What's New for the 2019 Acura RDX?
Now in its third generation, the all new 2019 Acura RDX was completely redesigned from the bottom up for this model year. Despite a crowded luxury SUV market, the Acura RDX stands out from the crowd thanks to its long list of standard amenities, practicality, and stellar safety features. The Acura RDX features turbocharged 4-cylinder engines, all-wheel drive system, and a sporty exterior. Favorite features in the new RDX include the AcuraWatch Safety system, which includes features such as lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control, as well as the Walk Away Door Lock.
Power and Performance
Under the hood, the 2018 Acura RDX boasts a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that boasts 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with the new 10-speed automatic transmission that changes gears effortlessly. This powertrain combination provides an EPA estimated 22 city and 28 highway miles per gallon in front-wheel drive models, 22 city and 27 highway miles per gallon in FWD A-Spec models, 21 city and 27 highway miles per gallon in AWD models and a slightly lower 21 city and 26 highway miles per gallon in AWD A-Spec models. An idle start/stop system preserves fuel at stop lights, improving city MPG ratings. The Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system is optional in the 2018 RDX for an extra $2,000. The RDX also gets a respectable towing capacity of 1,500 lbs.
Interior and Features
The 2019 Acura is available in four trim levels: Base, Technology, A-Spec and Advance. Standard in the 2019 RDX is leatherette upholstery, power tailgate, panoramic moonroof, AcuraWatch safety system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and 9-speaker audio system. Also included is Apple CarPlay, a 10.2-inch high-definition display with True Touchpad interface, heated and 12-way adjustable power front seats, auto dimming rearview mirror and HomeLink system. Upgrade to the technology package and you will get perforated leather seats, navigation, upgraded ELS audio system, rear USB ports, parking sensors, and blind-spot monitoring system. Optional equipment includes the torque-vectoring super handling all-wheel drive system (SH-AWD), 20-inch wheels, LED fog lights, and 16-speaker ELS 3D audio system. Upgrade to the Advance model and you will be treated to an active damper system, 16-way power front seats, heated front and rear seats, wood interior trim, hands-free tailgate, rain-sensing windshield wipers and a large heads-up display.
